So I’ll remember yesterday as the Alec Bohm Game. Playing out of position at first base -- where he’s actually better than he is at third -- Bohm started a game-saving 3-2-3 double play in the sixth, and then a 3-6-3 DP in the eighth. How unlikely was that? Coming into Wednesday, in 144 games and more than 1300 innings at first, Bohm had started three 3-X-3 double plays in his career. Of course, between those two big plays, Bohm handled a Sean Murphy bunt awkwardly in the seventh and helped create a first-and-second, nobody-out spot for a tiring Cristopher Sanchez.
Bohm’s misplay would soon be forgotten.
