"Keeping Devers may not be enough to launch the 2023 Red Sox into the playoffs. They play in a very tough division, and while they have spent money to improve the roster, it’s still extremely thin and unreliable. Devers, though, should still be a star, still be a core piece, when the products of a rebuilt farm system are ready to take back the AL East.
